Vegetable dyeing advice: Animal fibres (wool, silk, alpaca) allow to obtain colours generally brighter than on cellulosic fibres (cotton, linen, hemp…).
The dyeing takes in a homogeneous way, think however of washing it beforehand with a soap like Marseille soap and/or soda crystals. Be careful, wool is particularly sensitive to temperature changes, soak it in your lukewarm bath and let the bath cool down.
For the mordanting stage, use alum (20%) and 5% cream of tartar to dissolve in hot water, wait until the bath is warm to immerse the scarf in it. Leave to soak overnight.
Finally, rinse well and let dry before dyeing.
